Detect your pests: practical statistical framework

In the context of the new plant health Regulation (EU) 2016/2031, EU Member States are required to perform annual or multi-annual surveys of regulated pests. In order to support Member States in their surveillance activities, EFSA has developed a Toolkit for plant pest surveillance, which addresses survey preparation and design. This webinar will focus on the design of detection surveys aimed at substantiating pest freedom or detecting pests in the early stages of an epidemic.

The webinar will guide participants through the process of designing a detection survey in a statistically sound and risk-based framework.

The webinar is part of EFSA’s contribution to the International Year of Plant Health.

Participants may submit questions during the webinar, which EFSA will answer orally or in writing after the event. EFSA will publish a recording of the webinar on its website.

For technical reasons, participation is limited to a maximum of 500 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
